My favorite thing about St. Mary’s is that the faculty and staff foster a caring and safe environment for my children, especially in these uncertain and trying times. My children come home from school every day with a smile on their face. There is such a sense of community and family that you can feel when you walk into the school. You know that feeling, the feeling when you know you made the right decision, and it just brings a smile every time you think about it? Well, that is how we feel about SMS. We could not imagine our son going anywhere else. The feeling of knowing how safe and loved he is when I drop him off in the morning, its priceless. He is always happy to go, and excited. He even comes home jumping off the bus with huge smiles. He loves all the teachers, and Nurse Liz. He highly recommends the school because it is a “great school”. His only complaint is that there aren’t enough dress down days. We love the smallness of the school, and the attention he and all of the children get. It is a wonderful feeling not to have worry or feel the need to call and see how he is doing, after all, SMS is family, and it doesn’t get safer than that. We were parishioners of St Mary's. When it was time decide where to send our child, we wanted a place that reflected our morals and ideals. We felt St. Mary's would provide our child not only with the educational building blocks, but the moral compass to navigate today’s world. We sent our child to St. Mary School for the small class sizes and individualized attention they are known for. The teachers are phenomenal and the curriculum is challenging. I feel my child is well prepared for high school and beyond because of the solid foundation given at St. Mary School. St. Mary is different from other schools because of its close-knit community. I had no idea when we selected Saint Mary Preschool for my eldest that SMS would become such a huge part of the lives of every member in my family. From school to volunteer work, SMS was our school, our friends, our community. Both my children attended from Preschool through 8th Grade. As hoped, they learned the basics that helped them attain success in high school and college, but they also learned things that you can’t grade or put in a transcript. Their faith is deeply rooted in who they are, both chose to go to Catholic Universities because that felt right. Service is just something they expect to do in their lives. They are both intensely loyal to the kids they met at SMS and still consider them their closest friends.
