We are excited to announce the continuation of our Aftercare Program to all SMS families. Please note, aftercare fees have increased this year by $5.00 to adjust to inflation over the past few years.
This is an after school care program offered to all students. It is held every school day, from dismissal to 5:30pm. This includes half-days except if specified otherwise in the calendar. The program is supervised by qualified adults. In order to take advantage of this service, all policies must be followed. Failure to remain current with payments owed will result in termination of this service.
All students in aftercare are provided a snack and break after dismissal, then taken to designated locations according to grade level.
Pre K to grade 3 students will have supervised activities and play time. Students in grades 4 through 8 will be given designated time for homework completion and study time. Tutors will be available for student needs. After homework is completed, students can have leisure time for reading, games and/or outdoor play if weather permits.
The use of cellphones or smart watches is prohibited in aftercare.
Computer use for students in grades 4-8 will be available through the teacher and only when necessary for course work.

Please have all payments sent in a sealed envelope with your students name, grade and clearly labeled “Aftercare”
To participate in the After School Program, children must be registered in advance. Payments are due in advance on Monday of each week. The cost is the same regardless of pick-up time. Enrolling your child(ren) for the After School Program reserves the time, space, staff, and provisions for your child whether or not he/she attends.
The program is available to those who do not register at the start of the week depending on room. To do this, send in your payment and After School request in the morning. If something last minute comes up, you can call or email the Office before 1:00 pm. In such cases, payment is expected the following day.
All students must be signed out on a daily basis by the person picking up the child. This procedure is for the safety and security of your child(ren) and will be strictly enforced. Policies stated in the Parent-Student Handbook apply to the Extended Day Program.
