What I liked best about St. Mary School was the amazing education I received, the help I got from all of my teachers and the great friends that I made. I would highly recommend St. Mary School because of their generosity and kindness toward their students. They always make sure every student is in good hands. (Alumni Class of 2019)
I would want young families to know that St. Mary helps your children find their lifelong friends, and create amazing memories to look back on fondly. My closest friends, who I consider family now, I met during my time here, and we have created a lifelong bond. Some of my favorite memories from my years at Saint Mary are the basketball tournaments, the carnival, and when we went on the annual eighth-grade field trip to Boston. Be rest assured that your children will meet great lifelong friends, and create memories that they otherwise would not get at any other school! (Alumni Class of 2014)
St. Mary School is different from other schools because it is a Christ-centered school that focuses on educating the whole child – academically, socially, emotionally, spiritually and culturally. It is a faith and values-based learning environment that prepares students for lifelong learning. The administrators and teachers strive for academic excellence and serve as positive role models for the students. We value diversity and treat each other with dignity and respect. Service activities are an integral part of what we do at St. Mary School. The family-oriented environment helps all students and families feel part of a special community. (SMS Teacher)
St. Mary School gives me the ability to explore and teach the things I love, which in turn, excites the children I teach. I am lucky to be able to learn something new every day. (SMS Teacher and Mom to 2 SMS Alumnae)
St. Mary School is in a class of its own, and it is felt the moment you walk through the doors each day. The school goes beyond academics. It is a family connected by faith. Walking the halls, you can feel the sense of community. It starts in the classroom with our students and teachers. It extends past the school to each and every home of our students. We are all one, working together for our school, our students, and our faith. St. Mary School gives me the ability to teach from the heart. I truly enjoy coming to our classroom every day and working with all of my students. Our tight knit community allows us to learn and grow together each day. Students at St. Mary School are encouraged to think outside of themselves and show empathy to those in their lives. We encourage our students to remember that the world is larger than our classroom. I am so grateful to be a part of such a wonderful community of learners. (SMS Teacher and Mom to 2 SMS Students)
St. Mary's gives me the ability to reach my students through my example as a follower of Christ. We are a community of people who want to make a difference in the world. By sharing my love of learning with my students, I can inspire them to do more and be the best they can be. (SMS Teacher and Mom to 2 Alumni)
Saint Mary School gives me the ability to foster my creative ability as a teacher, allowing me to share creative ways to engage the students. (SMS Teacher)
Being a new teacher at St. Mary's has allowed me to develop my own path and way of teaching in history and religion. I am able to utilize many different resources as well as the other middle school teachers to help teach a variety of lessons in different and interactive ways for students that are learning in person and remotely. (SMS Teacher)
Saint Mary’s is truly a special place. It feels like a second home, with inclusion of everyone, staff, students and families. (SMS Teacher and Alumni Mom)
My favorite thing about Saint Mary School is the excellent balance between academics, spiritual development and social growth. Children are participating in a holistic education that allows them the room to grow in God's love so they can achieve their personal best. Saint Mary School lives its mission every single day. Each child walks away understanding that they belong to a world that stretches beyond them and that they have the tools to make it a better place through their religious, academic and community pursuits. The SMS community is supportive, welcoming and a lot of fun to be a part of. The kids are bright, talented and love their school, which makes each day a great one. The Faculty is outstanding and motivates the class to strive for excellence and in the upper school there is tremendous support for young teens beginning their preparations for high school.”
