I am a Registered Nurse at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. I work in the operating room and specialize in cardiac and thoracic surgery!
What was your educational path after graduating from St. Mary School?
After graduating from SMS, I attended Lauralton Hall and The University of Scranton.
How do you feel SMS prepared you academically?
SMS taught me the basic educational values that set me up for success in my future. I learned the basics skills such as writing, public speaking, and time management, that has helped me in my higher education.
Do you feel SMS provided you with a foundation for your future?
Absolutely! SMS is where I learned my love for science! I was able to get a strong background in science and math at SMS and I now have my dream job as a nurse. Thanks to that.
What are some of your favorite memories of SMS?
Some of my favorite SMS memories are the ones with my friends (who are still my friends today!). I will never forget our 8th grade class night where we had a simple BBQ and bounce house! We had a blast.
What advice can you give to our students?
Advice I would give to the student would be, to never give up on your goals! Even when it’s hard – keep at it!
