Mrs. Ryan will join the Saint Mary School community as our new first grade teacher, beginning in the fall of 2022. A graduate of Springfield College with a BA in Elementary Education, Mrs. Ryan taught first grade at Momauguin Elementary School in East Haven for eight years before taking some time off to raise her two daughters, Mackenzie and Finnley. Her passion for teaching drew her back to the classroom, this time as a private preschool teacher in Wallingford for four years before transitioning back to East Haven where she has taught fifth grade for the past two years.

As she looks forward to joining SMS, Mrs. Ryan says, “I love helping young people to grow and seeing their personalities develop and blossom throughout the year. Their curiosity and excitement to learn, experiment and try new things – it’s the best part of my day! I’m very much looking forward to joining the SMS community and can’t wait to work with and learn from everyone here.”

Raised in Bedford, New York, Mrs. Ryan, her husband, Jim, and their two daughters are proud to call Milford home. Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Ryan enjoys spending time with her family and friends, exploring new places and doing anything that is active and outdoors.
