Linda M. Crotta

Teacher

Linda Crotta has been working at St. Mary  School since 1994. She has taught grade 4 and grade 1 at SMS. She also has taught in both catholic and public schools in New York as well as subbing in Hamden and New Haven Public schools. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, she attended St. Catherine of Alexandria School, Fontbonne Hall Academy, St. Joseph’s College and The College of Staten Island where she received her M.S. in Special Education. She holds a New York State Certification in K-6 and Special Education as well as Connecticut Professional Educator Pre-K to 6 certification.

Mrs. Crotta says, “Teaching at St. Mary’s continues to be a challenging and rewarding experience. I enjoy the eagerness of my students and strive to give them my best effort each day so that I may be able to spread the message of Jesus.”

Mrs. Crotta enjoys reading, counted cross-stitch and cooking.  She also enjoys biking and taking walks with her family.  Teaching children how to be proficient readers is of great interest to her and she is a member of the International Reading Association and keeps up with the latest research.
