Cheryl Nethercott

Reading Interventionist

I grew up in Miford, and graduated from Foran High School. I attended Marist College where I received my Bachelors of Science Degree in Psychology with a dual certification in Elementary Education and Special Education, followed by my Master’s Degree in Elementary Education. I then went on to teach first and second grade at Orchard Hills and John F. Kennedy School in Milford for 7 years. After that I took some time to stay home with my boys. During that time I was very active in the PTA , volunteering in their classrooms, tutoring and substitute teaching.

For the last 3 years I have been a Reading Tutor and ELL Tutor in the Stratford Schools. I enjoy working with students in small groups and one on one. I am excited to start this new position and bring my love of teaching and helping students to the St. Mary’s community!

I enjoy vacationing with my family and friends, reading, shopping and running! I have two boys, Tyler will be a sophomore at Law and Gavin will be in 8th grade at Harborside. We spend most of our free time at one of their sports’ games, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!
