Ms. Amanda Grillo is thrilled and blessed to join the SMS community and excited for a this new adventure. She is a life long West Haven resident that is very familiar with the Milford area. She is a jill of all trades with experience in Theatre, Graphic Design, Photography, and Writing. She has been a featured columnist for broadwayworld.com and onstage blog as well as designing book covers and other theatre marketing material for local theatres she is associated with. She believes in cultivating creativity and a thirst for discovery.

Ms. Grillo graduated from University of New Haven in 2018 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts and is currently pursuing her Masters in Elementary Education. She is a proud alumna of Lauralton Hall, Class of 2014, and has loved the Catholic Education setting ever since. She has always enjoyed working with children since way back when she was a camp counselor and an elementary school volunteer. She joins the SMS family after 3 years at Saint Lawrence in West Haven where she started as a para and quickly became the 5th grade teacher.

Ms. Grillo is the youngest of 2 children in her family, but with many cousins so she certainly loves the close knit community she is joining. In her spare time you can find her behind the camera, trying a new craft, onstage, backstage, in an audience, or trying to make her favorite coffee shop beverages in the comfort of her own home. She is also an avid fan of Harry Potter (a proud Hufflepuff), anything Disney, and of course Broadway. Students can also expect to hear many puns and educational parodies she has created over the years. She is so excited to be a part of the amazing SMS family!
