Mrs. Theresa Torres

Religion 6-8

Mrs. Torres is so grateful to join us this year as our middle school religion teacher. She has 20 years teaching experience and 7 years as a Hospice Chaplain and Pastoral Care Specialist, focusing on trauma and grief with families and children. She holds degrees in early childhood special education, philosophy and religion from Albertus Magnus College and an MA from Fordham University in Pastoral Care with a concentration in counseling and chaplaincy.

Mrs. Torres and her Husband live on the shoreline with their four children and two dogs. They love spending time together at Church, enjoying nature while hiking and fishing, cooking and baking, and having discussions about everything from religion, literature, politics to video games (which I never win).

“I enjoy teaching the art of contemplative thought while understanding the written word of God. I look forward to this exploration and to partnering with all of the Saint Mary’s School families, staff, and children this year.”

“We give you praise, O God, for everything that is new and beautiful, for everything which holds promise and brings us joy. May you watch over our school community as we begin this 2024 school year filled with your glory. Amen.”
