October

We are kicking off the 2016/2017 enrichment program with Bret Nichols! Bret is a motivational speaker, professional basketball player who played in Ireland, England and against the world famous Harlem Globetrotters as well as a player and coach of the New York Nationals. He will be here to speak to our students, delivering his “You Gotta Believe” message of motivation, inspiration and encouragement with an interactive style!

In November, we celebrate the arts with our very own SMS Broadway Stars musical presentation of “Jungle Book, Abridged!” directed by Milford’s own theatre company Pantochino Productions!

December

Mr. Peace is bringing his motivational and character building assembly to SMS. Our students will hear his passionate message on bullying, diversity, leadership and making positive life choices.

March

The Earth Dome is coming……and it’s GIGANTIC!!! Here’s a cool way to see and understand Earth as it appears from space-no painted globes here! Our students will climb inside the 19 foot by 22 foot inflatable balloon to get a better understanding of the continents, time zones, latitude, longitude and so much more!

April

America’s most famous author, Samuel Clemens, known by his pen name as Mark Twain, will entertain our students and staff as performed by a talented artist. He will weave from his classic stories and timeless illustrations of summer life and childhood wonder that are icons of American literature to historical events of Clemens’ childhood and early manhood as a microcosm of pre-Civil War life on the Mississippi River.

May

History comes alive! A talented historical impressionist is sure to capture our young audience with his presentation of George Washington, the Father of Our Country. Our students will learn all about the life of our founding father separating facts from fiction!
