May Crowning - Students participated in the annual May Crowning Celebraton. Check out some of the beautiful photos.
On Friday, May 17th, over 250 children circumnavigated the school building as part of the annual SMS Sprint. At the same time, about 200 grandparents and other special persons came, saw the kids run, toured the school and had lunch. What a special day. Kudos to the parents who organized and ran the event and the many who supported it. It was one of those rare signature events in the ongoing and ever improving history of our school!
On May 14th, the children of our school gathered in St. Mary Church for the tradition of crowning the Statue of our Blessed Mother, our way of honoring her and praying that we can better follow her son, Jesus. We thank the Choir, the Band, our First Communicants, the singers and dancers; but most of all our eighth graders and teachers who coordinated this lovely service. How special it is to be a part of a community named in honor of our Blessed Mother!
Recently, the Knights of Columbus held an essay contest for all the Catholic School 8th graders of Milford. Students from St. Mary School took all the awards and were able to read their essays at the award ceremony on May 9th. Congratulations to Emma, Mike and Finn for their excellent writing and wonderful oral presentation.
